CHECK 1

Use the name with its production context

Ask for the offered vehicle’s original designation and production information before starting a trim comparison. Similar English descriptions can hide a different update period. The year guide provides the chronological framework needed to avoid mixing those descriptions.

Keep dated manufacturer references with the comparison, but request evidence from the actual candidate. Do not copy every feature from a launch presentation into a quote simply because the model name is familiar. A specification should distinguish confirmed equipment, optional items and unresolved claims.

CHECK 2

Prioritise the features that affect acceptance

Ask the customer which cabin functions, chassis features or support arrangements matter most. Give each essential item an evidence requirement. A current photograph may establish visible equipment, while an operating function may need a demonstration or applicable documentation.

The chassis review treats technical configuration and condition as separate questions. A more elaborate equipment description does not by itself establish suitability for the destination or the quality of a used candidate. Consider the support needed to maintain the actual systems supplied.

CHECK 3

Separate hardware from software services

A sensor or control visible on the vehicle does not establish every associated function. Region, accounts, software state and service availability may matter. The connected-function guide explains how to keep those dependencies visible before making a customer promise.

Do not describe driving assistance as unconditional autonomous operation. State the hardware and functions that have been verified, along with relevant limitations. A source-market demonstration supports the observed context; overseas operation requires its own supporting evidence.

CHECK 4

Compare the commercial package

Record preparation, inspection, accessories and delivery scope alongside the configuration. If service or warranty terms are offered, attribute them to the party making the commitment and ask for applicability to the vehicle and destination. Domestic benefits should not be assumed to transfer automatically.

A used alternative and a new alternative need different status and history reviews even when both are described with a desirable trim name. Keep the final acceptance record tied to the candidate, and review a replacement against the same essential requirements.

CHECK 5

A practical comparison

Two offers use different trim descriptions, but the customer’s priority is a specific seating function and a documented local service arrangement. Ask both sellers to provide comparable evidence for those requirements. Keep other equipment differences visible without letting a longer feature list determine the decision on its own. If a claimed function is unverified, record that limitation. The resulting comparison can explain value in terms of the customer’s needs rather than assuming the more prominent trim label always produces the better offer.
