CHECK 1

Describe the city duty cycle

Ask about monthly distance, ordinary trip length, waiting time, passengers and climate-control needs. School runs, business visits and long steady urban journeys can create different patterns. Avoid treating the word city as a fixed test condition or transferring another owner’s result without its context.

The charging and extended-range guide connects the operating plan with replenishment access. Record how often the customer expects to plug in and which longer trips occur outside that routine. For a dealer, the useful estimate belongs to the customer’s schedule rather than to a universal L9 monthly figure.

CHECK 2

Identify the evidence behind each number

Request the dates, distance, fuel purchases and charging record behind any claimed result. Distinguish a vehicle display from a refuelling record or billed electricity. Explain whether the period starts and ends at comparable fuel and battery states, or how differences are handled in the comparison.

Do not manufacture precision where the records are incomplete. Label assumptions and request missing information when it could change the decision. A short drive with a favourable display can support an observation, but it does not establish the energy purchases needed to sustain the same use over a full month.

CHECK 3

Use the customer’s actual charging mix

Separate home energy, public charging and any applicable additional charges. Confirm prices locally and keep currency and units visible. If charging availability is uncertain, do not calculate the entire budget using a cheap home rate merely because that makes the running estimate attractive.

The DC session review helps evaluate the practical charging stop, including the distinction between energy transfer and total visit time. Waiting, access and the required departure charge can affect the customer’s routine even where they do not appear directly in a simple electricity subtotal.

CHECK 4

Work through a labelled example

For arithmetic only, assume 60 litres of petrol at 1.20 currency units per litre and 300 kWh of electricity at 0.25 per kWh. The subtotals are 72 and 75, producing 147 currency units for those energy purchases. These invented values are neither an L9 test nor a price quotation.

If the same illustrative period covers 1,500 kilometres, the energy-only amount is 9.80 currency units per 100 kilometres. Keep the fuel and electricity quantities beside that result. The example shows the method; it should not be advertised as the cost a customer will obtain without their own use and tariff evidence.

CHECK 5

Test the assumptions that matter most

Repeat the worksheet for greater public-charging use or a higher-distance month. Do not retain a favourable petrol result while removing the charging input associated with it. A coherent alternative scenario changes the operating pattern and related energy assumptions together, with any uncertainty made explicit.

For a business whose travel varies seasonally, calculate the relevant periods separately. An annual figure based on one quiet month may understate the customer’s normal use. Show which costs change with distance and which separate ownership expenses remain outside the energy model so the comparison can be updated honestly.

CHECK 6

Keep purchase and maintenance costs visible

The dealer quotation guide separates the vehicle price, preparation and transfer scope. A favourable running estimate does not establish the best finished purchase value if one candidate also needs material work. Obtain the appropriate inspection and repair scope rather than allowing the energy discussion to hide condition differences.

Do not diagnose battery or engine condition from one consumption number. An unexplained change should be assessed in its vehicle and operating context by an appropriate provider. Likewise, a documented satisfactory inspection does not guarantee a particular monthly bill after the car moves to a different customer, climate or route.

CHECK 7

Give Panda a usable operating brief

State the destination, new or used preference, accepted versions and normal charging access. If running cost is a deciding factor, ask for relevant evidence and distinguish measured results from planning assumptions. Include the journeys that might cause the car to operate differently from an ordinary local week.

Retain the worksheet with the accepted offer and revise it if a substitute changes the configuration or new evidence changes the assumptions. The customer should receive a transparent calculation they can adapt. Avoid reducing an extended-range purchase to a guaranteed petrol figure that omits the electricity and other costs needed to support the actual routine.

TURN THE CHECKS INTO A BUYING BRIEF

Discuss your Li L9 requirements.

Include destination, quantity, condition and version preference. State what must be verified before acceptance; actual availability and commercial terms need confirmation.
